(using SoftPlan® 2012 CAD)

CAD Design ProcessOhio’s premier professional residential design organization presents this informative overview and technical seminar of SoftPlan® CAD processes. This seminar is specifically focused for Residential Designers, Draftspersons and others who are interested in learning more about the integration of three dimensional designs in residential construction. Included will be tips and tricks on increased productivity in plan preparation, reduction in plan errors, and use of the drawings for presentations and marketing, and most importantly client visualization.

If you’re interested in production and challenges in creating working drawings and new designs, sharing /editing files or using materials estimating this seminar could help you. This seminar is geared to current Softplan users who may need some additional training or are interested in learning more about CAD capabilities.

Seminar Schedule

  • 9:00 AM –       Breakfast Buffet (provided) and AIBD Chatter
  • 10:00 AM -      CAD Training Session (2 hour)
                         General Overview; CAD functions; menus & tools;
                         preferred processes and customization
  • 12:00 -           Lunch Buffet -  (provided)
  • 1:00 PM -        CAD Training Session (3 hour)
                         3D features and integration including a question and answer portion

NOTE: Attendees who are current Softplan users are encouraged to bring laptops and your SoftPlan Key, to participate in hands-on training activities.

This presentation will be provided by Robert Browne of Cadworks Consulting, Inc. With over 28 years in the CAD industry Mr. Browne’s CAD expertise is multi-faceted across not only a wide variety of platforms including  Autocad, 3D Studio Max, Archicad, and of course SoftPlan but also from a variety of perspectives. Robert currently serves as the Softplan Dealer/Tech support for Ohio, and Western Pennsylvania.
